AOTLN April Web Chat: AOT Champions
This month’s web chat, scheduled for Thursday, April 24 at 3 p.m. ET, is specifically for AOT champions. An “AOT champion” is anyone working on the grassroots level, from inside or outside the system, to convince stakeholders in their community to come together to establish a quality AOT program or make an existing program better. AOT Champions recruit, assemble, educate, and motivate local leaders to want what they want. As with any advocacy for policy change, these efforts take patience, persistence, and unsinkable optimism.
If you are currently fighting this good fight in your community—whether for an AOT program that is still just a dream, or for an existing program that has yet to reach its potential—this month’s stakeholder web chat is for you. Discuss strategies to get reluctant or disinterested key leaders to the table, raise awareness of the impact of untreated SMI, and rebut common arguments against implementing AOT. This is an opportunity to share your own experiences, ask questions, and perhaps even forge new alliances. Register here today!
